Today's Closure Due to COVID-19

Shortly before the library was scheduled to open on Thursday, February 18, we were notified that a staff member had tested positive for COVID-19. We took immediate steps to close the library in order to keep everyone safe while we investigated the situation. The staff member is isolating and will not return to work until cleared to do so by medical professionals.

After speaking extensively with the staff member about their activities in the building we have determined that they correctly wore their mask, maintained proper physical distancing, and had no close contact with either the public or other staff members during their work. Other staff members who may have worked in the same areas at different times have been notified and advised to monitor their health, but are not being asked to self-isolate at this time.

The areas in which the positive staff member worked have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. We have consulted with the Village Health Department and they agree that it is safe to reopen the library for limited in-person services on Friday, February 19.

The health and safety of our staff and community are our first priority. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate this pandemic together.
