Computers

Computers are available for adults and teens on the second floor on a walk-in basis or by appointment. Book online, call 847-673-7774, or visit the second floor help desk to make an appointment. Appointments are available for up to 60 minutes, with the option to add more time based on computer availability. Black and white and color printing, as well as scan-to-print copies, are available for a fee (coins or credit card). Free digital scanning and domestic faxing are also available.

The Lab

The Lab's computers are available for kids up to 8th grade on a drop-in basis. Anyone under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Computers can be used for up to one hour. Extensions may be possible based on availability. We cannot accommodate groups. You must know how to operate a keyboard and mouse to use a computer in The Lab.

Lab hours:

  • Monday-Friday 3:30-6 pm, 6:30-8:30 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 12:30-3 pm, 3:30-5:30 pm

WiFi

Free WiFi is available inside and outside of the library near the Village Green. Simply log on and select “Skokie Library” as your wireless connection; no password required!

WIRELESS PRINTING

Visit our printing portal to send print jobs from your laptop or from computers outside the building.

  • Black and white printing costs 10¢ per page.
  • Color printing costs 25¢ per page
  • Retrieve print jobs at the Print Release Station in the second-floor Computers area.
  • Unclaimed print jobs will be deleted four hours after they’re sent.
  • To print an email message or attachment from a mobile device, forward your email to bw@skokielibrary.info for black and white and color@skokielibrary.info for color. You’ll receive an 8-digit Release Code via email.

LAPTOPS, DEVICES AND GADGETS

Borrow laptops, chargers and calculators to use inside the library. Stop by the information Help Desk on the second floor to check one out.
