Alisa Ungar-Sargon

Alisa Ungar-Sargon was elected to the Library Board in 2025. She and her husband chose to raise their family here in Skokie because of the wonderful sense of community. Alisa is an avid storyteller in both theory and practice, with an MFA in creative writing from Northwestern and professional experience in a variety of fields including education, fine arts and digital marketing.

As a Trustee, Alisa joins the Board and staff of the library in a tradition committed to equity and lifelong learning. Her position is part of the continuation of the library’s legacy as a hub for learning, creativity and inclusion.

She enjoys browsing the fiction and sci-fi collections (and adding to her long holds list!), spending time in the Kids Room with her children, and aspires to learn how to use every piece of equipment in the Studio.
