Skokie Stories: COVID-19 Collection

Telling stories is one way to organize our experiences, process emotions, and make memories during unique circumstances.

The Skokie Stories: COVID-19 Collection is a new project from the Skokie Public library. We invite you to share stories, images, and expressions you’ve created in response to the uncertainties of our time. These could include short stories, zines, video or audio recordings, recipes, photos, textile art, collages, and much more. We will collect these for archival purposes and for a possible future exhibit. To participate, please fill out the form below.

Some questions that you may want to use as a prompt:

  • How do you prepare for competing demands from work or school, family, and social responsibility?
  • What are we doing collectively to respond to the disproportionate effects of COVID-19 on Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities?
  • How are you caring for yourself? What are you doing, or choosing to refrain from doing, with your time?

We will continue collecting submissions through the months ahead. Questions? Please email us.
