Educators & schools

We work closely with educators in schools that serve Skokie students to make library services and programs accessible and easy to use. We can supplement your classroom instruction, or find ways to engage students in the library.

Cards for Educators

Eligible educators in Skokie schools can get a library card to check out materials for classroom use. Each school provides the library with a list of eligible educators based on the current agreement between the library and the school or district. Use acknowledges understanding of the rights and responsibilities of educator library cardholders.

Cards for students

Students who live in Skokie can sign up for a library card through their school.

Request a Puppet Show

Our 30-minute puppet show for 2019-2020 features Strega Nona by Tomie DePaola and Dragons Eat Noodles on Tuesdays by Jon Stahl.

Resource Bags

We are not currently accepting resource bag requests.

Youth Book Discussion Kits

Each youth book discussion kit contains 12 copies of a single title. View a list of available kits and place a hold to request one.

Online resources

We have online resources specifically for kids doing research and needing homework help.

STEAM Kits

Do you want to find more ways to introduce STEAM learning to your students? Our STEAM kits are a fun, portable way to engage kids with science, engineering, and more. The kits check out for one week and can be renewed 3 times unless reserved. Take a look at our STEAM Kits.

Library Tours

We are happy to provide library tours for groups of kindergarten, first, and second grade students.

Please note that due to our renovation, we are finished with school tours for this school year. We will post more information about upcoming tours during Fall 2020.
