  • The Good Place: The Complete Third Season

    2019

The best show on TV got better. Few shows can balance thoughtful scenes about what it means to be a good person with goofy humor and groan-worthy visual puns. D'Arcy Carden as Janet was a standout. Ted Danson doing a deadpan, awkward floss when he had nothing else to offer made my night. Recommended by Lynnanne and Lukie.

  • Unforgotten: The Complete Third Season

    2019

Though not as stellar as the first two seasons (especially season one, which was one of my favorite TV seasons in recent memory), this is still a tremendously strong show. Unlike many thrillers, they are able to hold the suspense flawlessly from beginning to end, and the characters stay strong throughout. Recommended by Cecilia.

  • Father Brown Season 7 (DVD)

    2019

This remake of Father Brown is perfect! Characters are well developed, story lines believable, costumes and makeup authentic for the time period, theme music delightful, and locations amazing. I always look forward to the next installment of this fun series. Recommended by Mary.

  • Poldark: The Complete Fifth Season

    2019

It's so hard to believe that we won't be able to continue our relationship with all the vibrant, robust characters of this incredible series. I will miss most the incredible scenery (Cornwall), which drew me into the story immediately from the opening shots. Recommended by Mary.

  • Grantchester: The Complete Fourth Season

    2019

Changes are definitely afoot this season, with Sydney leaving the vicarage and the new replacement heading into town on a motorcycle. Geordie batles personal issues as well as all manner of crimes. Recommended by Mary.

  • The Durrells in Corfu Season 4 (DVD)

    2019

Inspired by Gerald Durrell's autobiographical books about his family's stay in Corfu from 1935 to1939, the final season manages to be delightfully humorous and melancholy. As the war in Europe looms, the Durrells must face a new reality, to say goodbye and carry the beauty of the island and friends in their hearts. I will miss this series, yet it wrapped up in the best possible way. Recommended by Sharon and Mary.

  • A Discovery of Witches

    2019

Based on the books by Deborah Harkness, there are witches, vampires, and demons living among us. Yes! I love the characters, the relationships, the world building, and the impossible that is possible. Recommended by Sharon.
