Despite getting fired from her job and dumped by her boyfriend, Emily Middleton is determined to have a great vacation. She flies to Ecuador with her mom, and they encounter surprises galore.

Mom Linda (Goldie Hawn) and daughter Emily (Amy Schumer) operate on wildly different terms. Linda is cautious and careful, while Emily is carefree and casual. Emily pursues the exotic vacation of her dreams with her mom, an experiment that forces them to resolve their differences. Also starring Joan Cusack, Randall Park, and Wanda Sykes.
