Article Discussion: The Last Gamble of Tokyo Joe

Tuesday, October 10, 2023

Library staff facilitate a discussion of a thought-provoking article.

He was a success story, though not a very wholesome one. Ken "Tokyo Joe" Eto went from being incarcerated with other Japanese-Americans during World War II to running rackets that generated millions of dollars a year for the Chicago Outfit. But when the FBI set its sights on him, he found out how little loyalty counted for in his chosen profession. And then...well, true crime is stranger than fiction.

Read the article via Chicago Magazine, and come with questions, impressions, and curiosity to share.
