Maker May: Meet Craftivist Shannon Downey: Online Event

Thursday, May 12, 2022
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Welcome Shannon Downey for the second of our May events spotlighting makers using their art, voice, and power to influence the world around them.

Shannon Downey is an artist, activist, craftivist, community builder, and general instigator. She blends politics, activism, and art to inspire others to take action, think, discuss, engage with democracy and their community, and find some digital-analog balance.

Shannon is queer, anti-racist, feminist, anti-capitalist, and committed to growth, learning, honesty, and doing whatever she can to make this an equitable world. Her art generally tackles what she calls “the big three” systems of oppression: white supremacy, patriarchy, and capitalism.

Presented in partnership with multiple Illinois public libraries on Zoom. Register with a valid email address to receive the link to join. Registration closes Thursday, May 12, at 4 pm.
