Simple Auto Repair and Maintenance

Thursday, November 4, 2021
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
East Entrance

Car maintenance can seem mysterious and expensive. Learn the basics to keep your vehicle running smoothly--both what you can take care of yourself and when you need to call in the pros.

In this outdoor workshop, we'll look at a car together, discussing tires, batteries, wipers, lights, mufflers, and other parts that are easily accessible. Instructor Jim Barnard will discuss types of products in each category and how to decide which is best for your needs.

We'll cover simple maintenance such as checking and adding oil, transmission, coolant, and other fluids. We'll also chat about what you can find in the vehicle manual and what to find on the internet. We'll also review useful tools and materials to keep in your vehicle, garage, or home.

Limited to 12 participants who must follow the library's pandemic safety guidance. This event will take place outdoors on the east side of the library, so dress appropriately for the weather.

Online registration is closed.
