Career professionals share tips and strategies for navigating your job search today.

During four weekly sessions, we’ll discuss:

  • Looking for a Job Today (June 3): The job market has changed dramatically. Career librarian Mike Buhmann will go over essential portfolio-building tools and present how you can develop the knowledge and skills to land the job you want.
  • Resumes and Marketing Material (June 10): Career professionals Jerry Donahue and Joan Neumahr share the best ways to market yourself today. Learn techniques to create an optimal resume, LinkedIn profile, cover letter, and more.
  • Informational Interviewing (June 17): Get an edge on the competition by networking your way to your next career. Martin Gahbauer of Elmhurst University will share how you can take control of your job search by conducting a series of directed interviews that will develop your network and help you land a good job.
  • Interviewing in the Virtual Age (June 24): During the pandemic, most interviewing is done on the phone and by computer. Long-time human resources professional Frances Price will explain the techniques for looking and sounding your best in an online interview.
