Armenian Music of Remembrance: The 150th Anniversary of Komitas

Crossing Borders Music celebrates the legacy of the renowned musician Komitas. He was sent to a prison camp during the Armenian Genocide by the Ottoman government.

He is widely seen as a martyr of the genocide. This performance will include arrangements of his vocal music for string quartet. In addition, Armenian composer and pianist Tatev Amiryan will perform works by Komitas and works in his honor by other Armenian composers.
