Volunteering at the library is a great way to build your skills and give back to the community. We will work with you to find a volunteer opportunity that meets your needs.
APPLYING TO VOLUNTEER
To schedule an appointment, please contact Dawn Wlezien at 847-324-3185 or DWlezien@skokielibrary.info.
Youth in grades 6-12 meet weekly between June 18 and August 3 to work on specific projects at set times. Visit this page to read full descriptions of all the projects. Apply now to be a 2018 summer volunteer. Volunteers will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through May 31.
Court Ordered Community Service
Teens who have been ordered to complete at least 20 hours of volunteer service may be able to do them at the library. Teens, age 14 through their senior year of high school, must be enrolled in a Skokie school district. Please call or email to schedule an interview with the volunteer coordinator (required). Persons under the age of 18 need the signature of a parent or guardian to perform service hours at the library.
In addition to our open volunteer opportunities, we have a number of special programs that need volunteers. Please inquire at the library.
