Volunteering at the library is a great way to build your skills and give back to the community. We will work with you to find a volunteer opportunity that meets your needs.

Court Ordered Community Service 

Teens who have been ordered to complete at least 20 hours of volunteer service may be able to do them at the library. Teens, age 14 through their senior year of high school, must be enrolled in a Skokie school district. Please call or email to schedule an interview with the volunteer coordinator (required). Persons under the age of 18 need the signature of a parent or guardian to perform service hours at the library.

Upcoming Teen Volunteer Opportunities

We have a limited number of spots available for teens to volunteer on select days off of school during the academic year. Volunteers will be accepted on a first come, first served basis via the applications linked below. Volunteers should fill out an application for each date in which they are interested, and they must commit to working the full 2.5 hour shift. Volunteers will work alongside a member of the young adult services team to assist with projects related to library programs, services, and collections.
