Skokie Yearbook Project

Close up of hands using rubber stamps and black ink to create pictures of faces. Text overlay reads "The Skokie Yearbook Project."

Be a part of our free and fun events, exhibits, and hands-on art at the library and in the community throughout the year. Be yourself and see yourself!

The Skokie Yearbook Project will explore a year in the life of the Village of Skokie. What makes our community unique? What makes you a unique part of it? Together we will create a “yearbook” that tells the story of who we are and how we live in community with one another.

There will be hands-on activities, chances to connect, exhibits, and storytelling opportunities that explore first who we are as individuals, then who we are in our inner circles of friends and families, and finally, who Skokie is as a community. Look for us at select Wednesdays on the Green and Skokie Farmers' Market dates throughout the summer.

We'll be popping up in the library the following days (look for the special tables near the east entrance):

  • Wednesday, June 25, 5:45-7:15 pm
  • Monday, June 30, 3:30-4:30 pm
  • Tuesday, July 1, 1:15-3:45 pm
  • Wednesday, July 2, 5:45-7:15 pm
  • Thursday, July 3, 12:15-2:45pm
  • Monday, July 7, 3:30-5:45 pm
  • Wednesday, July 9,  5:30-7:30pm

Upcoming Events

Self-Portrait: Third Space Thursday

Thursday, July 10, 2025, 2:00 pm

Are you best represented by words? Magazine collage? Stamps?

The Skokie Yearbook Project will help facilitate creating a self-portrait using stamps, and we'll have other materials to help create a reflection of who you are. Drop-in for some creative time.

If home is your "first space" and work is your "second space," then the library can be your third space--a communal place for spending time away from home and work that provides a low-key social environment. We'll provide snacks and activities for creative, community-building time.
