We work closely with area teachers and schools to make the library’s services and program accessible and easy to use for children in Skokie schools. We can supplement your classroom instruction, or find ways to engage students in the library.

Cards for Educators
Eligible educators in Skokie schools can get a library card to check out materials for classroom use. Each school provides the library with a list of eligible educators based on the current agreement between the library and the school or district. Use acknowledges understanding of the rights and responsibilities of educator library cardholders.
Cards for students
Students who live in Skokie can sign up for a library card through their school.
Educator resource bags contain up to 30 fiction, nonfiction, and audiovisual items selected by you or based on a specific topic or topics. The bag is checked out for you to pick up at the library or at a regular bookmobile stop. It may take up to a week for your resource bag to be prepared, but if you need it more quickly please indicate that on the request form and we will do our best to accommodate.
The book sets formerly known as Classroom Sets are now called Youth Book Discussion Kits. Each kit contains 12 copies of a single title. Click here for a list of available kits and to request one.

The 2018-2019 puppet show is a 30 minute performance featuring Little Red Riding Hood by James Marshall and Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion by Alex T. Smith.
