Common Areas

When you enter the library, we want you to feel welcome, comfortable, and confident that you'll be able to find whatever you're looking for. That's why we opened up the whole first floor so that you'll be able to see through from one side to the other. Easier access to our outdoor courtyards and unobstructed views of our abundant windows flood the space with natural light. We made improvements to our interior lighting to make it easy to browse all of the books, music, and movies that surround you on attractive displays throughout the entire library. 

You can relax on a bench, gather with friends and neighbors in communal areas, get cozy in a reading chair, and really make yourself at home. We added a café and vending area where you'll be able to grab a snack or drink to enjoy indoors or outside in the adjacent courtyard. Restrooms were reconfigured to be more accessible and inclusive for families and people of all abilities and identities.

The staircase was redesigned to create a more expansive and friendly entrance to the second floor, where you'll also discover improved sight lines for easier browsing, lovely natural light, spaces to work, and room to breathe. And of course, our helpful staff will always be nearby and ready to help you find whatever you're looking for.
