Community Support

Strong relationships and connections are vital to maintaining mental health, especially during unsettled times.

Connect with neighbors and community mental health resources as we reflect on how we are managing these days and how we are processing the thoughts, feelings, and images we’re experiencing. Counselors from Turning Point and staff from the library will facilitate sessions to connect community members with resources and one another.

There are two event options (details and links to register below): one focused on support for kids, teens, and caregivers, and the second focused on support for adults. The events will include opportunities to participate in:

  • Making art with an art therapist and library staff (paper and pencil required, other art supplies optional)
  • Group conversation with a Turning Point counselor
  • Yoga to de-stress, with Jackie Jasperson (part of the adult-focused event only)

When you register, you will be asked to select one breakout session you would like to attend. If you are registering multiple people who will each attend different breakout sessions, please use a unique email address for each registrant. Breakout room participation will be tied to the email address you will use to log in to the event on Zoom.

Registration closes at 4 pm the day of the event. Sign up for this event and receive the Zoom meeting link. If you have questions about this event after registration has closed, please email the events team.

This event is in partnership with Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center and cosponsored by Skokie Cares.
