Booking with a Buddy
Kids entering grades 1-3 in the fall can be "little buddies," taking part in this fun and engaging literacy program that promotes reading during the summer. Kids will read and talk about books one-on-one with junior high and high school volunteers, play games, do group activities, and gain confidence. This year's program will take place at the library.
Little buddy participants are matched with big buddies and meet in small groups two hours a week--one hour on Mondays and one hour on Thursdays--for four weeks (July 11-August 4).
Booking with a Buddy times are available at 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 5:30 pm. Meeting times are available on a first-come, first-served basis for ten kids per session. Space is limited. Registration begins June 1 and ends June 30 (or until registration is full). Register only if you can attend at least six of the eight sessions.
This is a four-week series (July 11-August 4). Register for only one of the times below--this will be your session time on Mondays and Thursdays for all four weeks.
Although this program encourages reading, it is not a tutoring program. Please contact Mandy O’Brien, firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have questions.
