Thursday, December 6, 2018

Radmacher Meeting Room

Learn how Chicago played a key role in bringing modern design to middle America.

In the 1930s, Chicago became the center of an exciting new design style known as "streamlined." The Burlington Zephyr, Wrigley Gum ads, Sunbeam appliances, Howell furniture, and Radio Flyer wagons all featured this type of design. Senior curator of the Chicago History Museum, Olivia Mahoney, will explore this fascinating topic.
