Young Steinway Concert: Lauren Kim, Piano, and Nicole Weirui Tong, Violin

We conclude our 35th season of presenting talented young performers of classical music this afternoon.

Pianist Lauren Kim is a junior at Northside College Preparatory School in Chicago. She received the best performance of the day award at the 2017 Illinois High School Association Solo and Ensemble Contest, is a merit scholarship student at the Music Institute of Chicago, and plays violin in her school orchestra. Nicole Weirui Tong, violinist, is a sophomore at Naperville North High School. She has appeared on WFMT's Introductions program as a member of the New World String Quartet and studies violin with Desiree Ruhstrat.
