They are students of violinist Desirée Rushtrat and cellist Richard Hirchl, and their quartet is coached by David Cunliffe.  The girls have enjoyed performing together since summer 2016, and they have been recognized at the M-Prize Chamber Arts Competition, the Discover Chamber Music Competition, WDAV's Young Chamber Music Competition, the St. Paul String Quartet Competition, and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.  They participate in the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory Chamber Music Program and are members of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. Hannah of Rolling Meadows is a junior at William Fremd High School in Palatine, Adele and Rowena are residents of Buffalo Grove where Adele attends Adlai E. Stevenson High School as a junior and Rowena homeschools, and Yonjoo is a senior at Neuqua Valley High School of Naperville.  Yonjoo will be attending Northwestern University in the fall.

Formed in September 2017 by good friends Suminne Hong (violin), Claudia Yoon (cello), and Anya Liu (piano),  the CAS Trio, after only two months together, won an honorable mention in the Open Division of the 2018 Discover National Chamber Competition and most recently participated in the prestigious Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition as the youngest chamber group of the 25 groups selected from around the nation. Violinist Suminne Hong is a freshman at Vernon Hills High School who studies violin with Desiree Ruhstrat. Cellist Claudia Yoon is a freshman at Vernon Hills High School who studies cello with David Cunliffe. Pianist Anya Liu is an eighth grader at Marie Murphy Junior High who studies piano with Brenda Huang. The CAS Trio is coached by Lincoln Trio member David Cunliffe.
