Chicago: A Southern Exposure

Wednesday, January 31, 2018
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Radmacher Meeting Room

Lee Bey, artist and former architecture critic for the Chicago Sun-Times, presents a slide lecture on the often-overlooked design gems of Chicago's South Side.

Informed by his Chicago Architecture Biennial exhibit on the same subject, currently on display at the DuSable Museum of African American History, Bey says his presentation helps to tell "a richer story, a richer history of who and what African Americans and our experience in this country has been.” He argues that the South Side is home to the finest collection of Chicago architecture outside of downtown. Cosponsored by the Village of Skokie Human Relations Commission.
