Troy Maxson (Denzel Washington) is a sanitation worker living in Pittsburgh during the 1950s. He once dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player, but missed his opportunity due to strict rules regarding the participation of black athletes. Bitter and determined for his son to move on, Troy creates tension in his family by dominating his future choices. Also starring Viola Davis and Stephen Henderson. Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by August Wilson, and winner of the 2016 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
