Event
Science Cafe: Space, Time, and Fermilab
Tuesday, June 13, 2017
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Radmacher Meeting Room
What are we made of? How did the universe begin? What secrets do particles hold and how can they help us understand the intricacies of space and time?
Jason St. John, a postdoctoral research fellow at Fermilab, the nation's premier particle physics laboratory, will discuss the inner workings of atoms and the weird world of the smallest things in the universe. He will also explain the science behind CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, large-scale neutrino experiments, and what we hope to learn from them. Coffee, tea, and cookies will be served.
