Unbroken Glass

Wednesday, May 10, 2017
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Radmacher Meeting Room

Join us for a screening of the film "Unbroken Glass," followed by a conversation with director Dinesh Sabu and community mental health professionals from Turning Point and Asian Human Services.

Dinesh Sabu was six years old when his parents died within a month of each other. Twenty years later, he begins piecing together the puzzle of his parents' lives, including his mother's schizophrenia and suicide and how his family dealt with its aftermath. Weaving interviews with scenes of raw emotion, Dinesh's story attempts to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of mental illness while empowering suicide survivors and families of the mentally ill. A conversation with Dinesh and members of community mental health professionals from Asian Human Services and Turning Point follows the screening.
