ELL Literacy Circle

Tuesday, October 29, 2024
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Business and Community Center

Have you ever wanted to be part of a library book discussion group, but you worried that your English language skills were not strong enough?

In this class for advanced-level English learners, we will read and discuss an American novel together, with the support of Margaret Feit Clarke, an experienced ESL teacher from the ELL Parent Center. You will strengthen your English skills while learning more about great literature, American culture, and the Skokie community.

Limited to 16 participants. Registration starts September 1 and closes September 24. The group will meet every Tuesday for 11 weeks: September 24-December 10, 10 am-noon. No class November 26.

We will read and talk about Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. It is an American novel about immortality. This book has been called a classic of modern children’s literature. Free books will be available at the first meeting and are for you to read and keep.

Find Tuck Everlasting in the library catalog.

Registration begins September 1.
