Painting from Nature

Thursday, October 13, 2022
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Business and Community Center

Learn to use watercolors to capture some of the beauty of the natural world from Margarete de Soleil, the artist whose work is currently on exhibit in the library.

Artist Margarete de Soleil guides you through the basics of painting natural objects with watercolors. Margarete's work is often based on her own "nature library," her collection of stones, feathers, bones, and other found materials. As she gathers these items, they inspire her. In addition to simple instruction, she will walk you through the types of supplies and paper you may want to use if you continue painting from nature.

No previous painting experience is necessary. All materials will be provided, and feel welcome to bring your own natural objects for inspiration or your favorite sketchbook, paper, or paints.

Margarete's paintings are displayed in the library's exhibition Art and Nature: Peaceful Messages of Contemplation through October 24.

This workshop is limited to 20 participants.

Online registration is closed.
