Ethos Duo Offers Music of Spanish and French Composers
Sunday, September 11, 2022
3:00 pm - 4:15 pm
Petty Auditorium
The Ethos Duo--Marina Hoover, cellist, and Sevgi Giles, pianist--will perform music by Granados, Cassadó, De Falla, Albinez, Debussy, and Saint-Saëns.
In the late 1800s and early 1900s, a cultural exchange occurred between Spain and France. Several Spanish composers made their way to France and lived and interacted with French artists, composers, and performers. The onset of WWI compelled most of the Spanish composers to return to Spain. This concert highlights the musical aspects of this cultural mixing.
For this drop-in event, free tickets will be given to those present starting at 2:30 pm.
