A well-known filmmaker, played by Antonio Banderas, who is in a creative dry spell, is also dealing with various health issues.
Learning of plans to screen a restored version of an early film, the filmmaker reconnects with the lead actor and reflects on his childhood. Written and directed by Pedro Almodovar, Pain and Glory is a sublime semi-autobiographical work of memory, imagination, and creation.
