What does the Supreme Court have to do with elections in the United States? Learn about the Supreme Court, how it operates, and its history related to elections.

The United States Supreme Court is the highest judicial body in the country. Made up of nine justices, each appointed by the President to a lifetime term, the Supreme Court hears cases and issues decisions that have a profound impact on American law and American life.

This event is part of our ongoing Civic Lab series, Election 2020. Before the general election on November 3, 2020, we are looking at the history of voting in the United States, as well as how the pandemic, news media coverage, and foreign entities are influencing our elections. We will also look at what roles we may play to help this democratic process.
