This month, we're reading There There by Tommy Orange. This critically acclaimed debut novel collects the stories of 12 people who share the goal of reaching the Big Oakland Powwow, all of them for different reasons. It’s an intergenerational and moving account about “violence and recovery, memory and identity, and the beauty and despair woven into the history of a nation and its people” (National Book Foundation).
