Book Discussion Room

Join us for our monthly book discussion for patrons with visual impairments.

This month's selection is Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover. Raised by survivalists in rural Idaho, Westover received no formal education until she changed her life and started school at Brigham Young University at the age of 17. This lyrically written memoir tells of how, despite starting with little knowledge of history or the outside world, she eventually earned a Ph.D in history from Cambridge and gained broader perspective on her own life.

Audiobooks are available through the Talking Book and Braille Service of the Illinois State Library. For more information on how to enroll in this service, please call the Senior Services line at 847-972-5651. Patrons of all abilities are welcome to participate in the discussion and to read the book in whatever format is best for them.

Online registration is closed.
