Civic Lab Prison Connections: The Power of Second Chances, Hope, and Human Contact

Friday, August 30, 2019
11:00 am - 1:30 pm
Central Lobby

What is it like to volunteer inside a maximum-security prison, even in solitary confinement?

Explore resources and join discussion with staff member Christie Robinson and former Skokie resident Leo Novsky. Leo now lives in Seattle, and they met this July in Pelican Bay State Prison in the remote northwestern corner of California. Both are volunteers with Hustle 2.0 and the Pelican Bay Volunteer Alliance, helping to bring hope, humanity, and second chances to people who are working hard to transform their lives.
