Free Lunches at the Library

We are partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to provide free summer lunches for kids 18 years and younger.

Meals will be offered at the library Mondays through Fridays from 12:15-1 pm, starting Monday, June 12, and ending Friday, August 11. There will not be a meal service on Monday, June 19, or Tuesday, July 4. Meals must be eaten at the library. Weather permitting, meals will be served in the South Courtyard and Café.

We are just one of the organizations working to reduce food insecurity in our community. Older adults can learn more about Meals on Wheels. Niles-Maine District Library also provides a free lunch service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

If you'd like to check whether you are eligible for the State of Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), use the ABE (Application for Benefits Eligibility) tool. Once you have determined your eligibility, the Village of Skokie Human Services Department can help you apply for SNAP and provide more information about local resources.
