October 14 Is Community Volunteering Day

We are delighted to offer our first day of Community Volunteering on Monday, October 14.

Three guided opportunities will be spread throughout the day, and a couple of drop-in activities will be available as well. Join us for one or more as your time permits:

  • 11:30 am-12:30 pm: make snuffle mats for One Tail at a Time
  • 1:30-2:30 pm: decorate placemats for recipients of the Village of Skokie’s Home Delivered Meals program
  • 3:30-4:30 pm: walk with library staff to clean up in cooperation with the Adopt-a-Street program (permission slips required for unaccompanied kids)

High school students interested in assisting as teen project leaders, contact Laurel Johnson no later than Monday, October 7.

Bring your family or friends, or come on your own and join our community of volunteers. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you here.

The day was planned because members of our community expressed a desire to learn more about options for volunteering.
