It seems like I've set a stage here that only men can be real-life superheroes in movies. Alas, there actually is proof coming out of Hollywood that this is NOT the case. Most of it is superficial and exploitative (ala the Kill Bill series). But, Fargo (the movie, NOT the series) has a superb female yet very unlikely hero.
She doesn't arrest anyone or pull out handcuffs, but she most definitely takes down one bad guy while empowering women all over the world. Proof that you don't have to actually kick someone in the gut to "kick them in the gut," so to speak.
