Shah Rukh Khan Films

By Katy Jacob

I'll admit it. I'm a little obsessed with the famous Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan. And I discovered his films about a decade ago by checking them out from Skokie Public Library! These are some of my favorite SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) movies, from when he was the #1 heartthrob in Indian cinema.

  • Kabhi khushi kabhie gham: Happiness and tears

    2002

One of my favorite movies of all time, this story is all about family--what breaks it apart and what keeps it together. As a bonus, this movie includes almost all of my favorite actors from Indian cinema: Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri, Kajol, and Hrithik Roshan.

  • Dilwale dulhania le jayenge

    1995

It's Kajol and Raj (SRK)! (I'm almost as obsessed with Kajol as I am with SRK.) Boy meets girl. Girl can't stand boy. Boy and girl get separated from their group while on a trip through Europe and fireworks ensue...eventually.

  • Devdas

    2002

This film has some of the best music and most visually gorgeous dance numbers I've ever seen. This movie leaves Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge in the dust. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays SRK's gorgeous love interest in a tragic romance.

  • Kal ho naa ho

    2003

Who's almost as amazing with SRK as Kajol? Preity Zinta. This is a high-drama love triangle with plenty of opportunity for SRK to cry and stare deeply into the camera.

  • Om shanti om

    2008

This is definitely one for fans of Bollywood with a sense of humor. This is a bit of a tongue-in-cheek satire of big budget Bollywood dramas.
