We may be able to borrow it from another library or add it to our collection.
Search LINKin
Your Skokie library card gives you access to LINKin, a shared catalog with local libraries.
- In our catalog, click “Search other resources” and then “Search partner libraries.” You can also search the LINKin catalog.
- When you find what you need, click “Request it," choose Skokie as your home library, and enter your name and card number. (Note: New items aren't available through LINKin.)
- Items usually arrive in 5 business days—we'll notify you when they're ready.

New releases
Skokie cardholders can suggest a purchase. We don't consider suggestions more than 3 months before an item's release date.
Older items
For items older than a year, please request an interlibrary loan. (Limit: 5 open requests/loans at a time). Depending on the loaning library's location, items may take up to a few weeks to arrive.
Other options
Register your Skokie card at nearby CCS catalog libraries or any Chicago Public Library branch for borrowing privileges. Or search libraries nationwide with WorldCat.org.
Local authors
We buy books by Skokie authors. For consideration, it must be available as a print-bound book through a major book retailer and be in a language currently collected by the library in print. To get started, send information about yourself and your book to tellus@skokielibrary.info and a librarian will get in touch.
Request Articles
Need an article we don't have online? Request a PDF from another library. (Note: We can't request physical journals).
