Up for Discussion

When I first started out as a librarian, one of my earliest duties was to moderate a book discussion group. I was totally freaked out. I had never been part of a formal book discussion and I didn’t like the idea of being forced to read certain things. But I proceeded to run that book discussion for many years--turns out that I loved it! It challenged me to think about what I read in new and different ways, and to consider exactly why I liked or didn’t like something. Plus, I discovered a whole bunch of books that I loved among those that I was "forced" to read.

In other words, don’t be scared to come to one of the library's book discussions! You'll meet new books and new people, and we have multiple groups so you're sure to find at least one that appeals to you. Consider joining us for any or all of these discussions. We have a limited amount of copies of the book discussion books at the Readers Services desk so come sign up!
