Your borrowing privilege is suspended when fines exceed $10. If you owe more than $10, you may be referred to a collection agency. An additional processing fee will be added to your account.
Using your account
Log in to your account to see checkouts, due dates, fines, renewals, and reserves.
You can renew most items at least once if no one else is on the waiting list. Call 847-673-2675 to use our automated renewal line or log in to renew online.
You can have up to 15 items reserved at any time. Place reserves through our catalog, in person, or by phone. If you don’t see something you want, request it.
Pick up reserved items at the library or elect to have them placed on the Bookmobile or delivered to you through the mail with Library Express (mailing cost is $2 per item).
We’ll email due date, overdue, and reserve notifications if you wish. Give us your email address when you get your library card or add an email to your account (log in and select “Edit account”).
Get account updates right on your phone! Text SIGNUP+your-14-digit-library-card-number to firstname.lastname@example.org to get started. We don't charge for this service, but your wireless carrier's charges for texting will apply.
You can pay fines using cash or check at the East or West Checkout Desks. To pay with a credit or debit card, use one of our self-checkout machines or pay online.
For online payment, log in to your account, select “Fines/Fees” and then “Pay Online.”
When you pay a fine, it will be posted to your account within 24 hours. If your account has not been sent to Unique Management, Inc., our collection agency, your library card will be available for use when the accumulated fines and fees on your record total less than $10.00. If your account has been sent to Unique Management Inc., your library card will not be usable until the balance is $0.
Refunds for "lost and paid" items
We will refund you for “lost and paid” items, less the overdue fee, if you return the item in good condition within 90 days.
